Let’s Act has been running drama classes in London and Yorkshire for over 15 years. Our drama classes are designed to be suitable for everyone. At Let’s Act we are passionate about giving confidence to young people through developing their performance skills.

Joining Let’s act was the best thing we as a family could have ever done, Lani is now at drama school in London. Katy loves her Tuesday and Friday class. I have made fantastic lifelong friends and have been known to take the stage myself with the adult Rock choir!

It’s the best thing we could have done for our little boy. Addison started in the baby class around three years old and has progressed through to the Donaldsons class. He has grown in confidence, found his voice and his stammer has completely gone. All the teachers are amazing with the children and he has met some fantastic life long friends.

Theatre productions

All our productions take place in real theatres and many of our children work professionally. The owner Amy Shone is a qualified speech and drama teacher and worked as an actress for 10 years. We accept children from 3 years old as part of our mini musical theatre programme to 18 years.

Doncaster musical theatre teacher
My name is Miss Amy and I am a musical theatre teacher at Let’s Act Doncaster. I have been dancing since I was a young child attending my local dance school. Then at the age of 15 I was accepted onto the Northern School of Contemporary Dance CAT scheme training in ballet and contemporary dance. I then trained at CAPA College for 2 years in musical theatre, dance and acting before starting my training at Bird College where I received a BA (HONS) in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre. After graduating from Bird College, I taught performing arts in London for 2 years at local stage schools. In the summer of 2022, I was fortunate enough to work in the USA where I was the director of a leadership program for young people aged between 16 and 18 to gain knowledge and experience being leaders and delivering activities. I joined the Lets Act Drama team in January 2023 and have loved watching students grow and gain confidence in performing arts. I can’t wait to watch their talents develop.

Our teachers

All of our teachers have a degree in drama or musical theatre, have a full DBS, two references and 3 year first aid certificate. Principal Miss Amy Shone is a qualified speech and drama teacher who oversees all clubs and sets the curriculum. With 15 years experience you are in good hands with Let’s Act!
